Our story

Some might call us an 'emerging church', others a 'fresh expression of church', but really all we want to do is be a community of Christians who love one another and live out the love, power, and redemption of Jesus in our neighbourhood, workplaces, families, and wherever we find ourselves.

We want to be relevant to those for whom church seems irrelevant, both to people in the area and through our personal friendships. We also want to be a place for those who love Jesus but sometimes aren't so sure about the church. We aim to provide the beginnings of fresh hope! This has involved doing things very differently as a church than we have been used to in the past, and we are still on that journey, adapting and changing, journeying with God.

We are trying to build together an inclusive multi-cultural Christian community with active dependence upon God at the heart outworked through celebration, prayer & worship, hospitality, and creativity. We are developing ways of demonstrating and furthering God’s kingdom in Southwark and much more widely. We are going for practical ways of being good news to all those with whom we come into contact, especially those on the margins of mainstream society. We want to be a Christian community at the heart of Peckham that is accessible to all, being where people are rather than always expecting them to come to us, and sharing in practical ways the transforming love of God...
